Nobi in assisted living facilities

How Nobi contributes to your care, comfort and safety

The pressure on nursing staff is increasing. Nobi doesn’t just stand for better resident or patient care in professional environments such as nursing homes. Our lamp also helps relieve the strain on nursing staff by taking over time-consuming, repetitive tasks. This way, the focus can be reverted to what should be at the heart of elderly care: the warmth of human connections.

Nobi stands for fall detection and fall prevention. It ensures caregivers are alerted when a resident falls so they can immediately provide help or assistance. A comprehensive dashboard shows the status per room. It can easily be paired with the alarm systems already available in nursing homes and hospitals. The state-of-the-art lamps also work with smart devices, such as blood pressure meters and scales, so additional parameters can automatically be added to the patient’s or resident’s medical file. Nobi ensures that busy caregivers find the time to become warm contacts.

Fall detection

When Nobi detects a possible fall, it will always ask “Did you fall?” in order to avoid false positives. If the answer is not “no”, Nobi will alert caregivers via the existing alarm system and/or the Nobi dashboard.

Fall prevention

When a resident sits up or tries to get out of bed, Nobi turns on soft lighting to prevent disorientation. The moment the resident gets out of bed, Nobi lights up completely.

A notification is also be displayed on the Nobi dashboard so that caregivers can offer preventative help. This is how Nobi helps prevent falls at night.

Medical record

Smart devices such as a scale, blood pressure monitor or thermometer can be connected to the Nobi lamp via Bluetooth. Once they’re connected and recording parameters, the data is automatically added to the resident’s medical record. This saves caregivers a lot of time. It’s also possible to monitor the resident’s sleep patterns.

Tech Crunch

Nobi stands out from the pack, not so much because of any flashy features, but rather a kind of practicality it brings to the table. Created by a Belgian startup of the same name, the ceiling-mounted smart light features motion sensors and infrared detection.

Integrating Nobi in your nursing home or assisted living facility.

Nobi & Nobita

To make Nobi as effective as possible, full coverage is desirable. But a pendant lamp is not required in every room. We have developed a second, smaller version of Nobi for smaller rooms.

Nobi

Nobi is our base unit designed for the bedroom and living room; a pendant lamp that can monitor spaces up to 32’ x 32’.

Nobita

Nobita is designed for smaller spaces up to 16’ x 16’. This more compact ceiling lamp is also moisture-resistant, making it ideal for bathrooms and kitchens. Please note: Nobita always works in conjunction with a Nobi lamp and is not available separately.
