1.2. We take your privacy seriously. That is why we take all appropriate measures to protect your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)​ and any other applicable data protection or privacy legislation​. 

1.3. This policy applies to the processing of your data by Nobi via our website https://www.nobi.life/. This privacy policy explains, among other things, what personal data we process via the website, how we do this, why we do this, what rights you have, and with whom we may share your data. We strive to provide you with as much transparency as possible in this regard.

 1.5. This policy does not cover the privacy policies, statements, or terms and conditions of third parties or any websites linked to our website.

2.1. We (Nobi) as the data controller. This means that we determine the purpose and means of the processing and guarantee the lawful and correct processing of your personal data via our website.

4. What kind of data do we process, and how?

4.1. Nobi may process the following data about you via the website:

  • Identification data, such as your last name, first name, e-mail address, telephone number and country. These data are only processed if and to the extent that you contact Nobi yourself via the contact-, brochure- and/or product form or the email address as stated on our website.
  • Any other personal data that you may provide in the contact-, brochure- and/or  product form or communicate via het email address as stated on our website. 
  • Account data: identification and contact data that you provide when creating an account via the Nobi website, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address and company name.
  • Data relating to occupation and professional position, such as your resume, cover letter, areas of professional interest and any additional documents. These data are only processed if and to the extent that you apply for a position at Nobi via the careers website (https://careers.nobi.life/). 
  • Electronic data: device data, log file data such as IP address, browser and operating system, user preferences (such as language settings), external websites, pages visited (and date and time of connection) and cookies.

4.2. Nobi can receive data directly from you, e.g. when you provide it via the contact -, brochure- and/or product form or the email address listed on the website. 4.3. The processing of the above-mentioned (personal) data is necessary for the purposes set out in Article 5 below.

5. Why do we process your data and on what basis?

5.1. Nobi processes your personal data for:

Contact, enquiries, information

  • We process your personal data via the website in order to be able to contact you, process any questions you may have and provide you with the necessary information about our products and services relating to the Nobi light, any promotions, discounts, our website or other information relating to our activities. 
  • The processing of your data for these purposes may be necessary to prepare a possible agreement with you, or it may be based on the legitimate interests of Nobi to the extent that these outweigh your (privacy) rights or interests. If you do not provide us with certain information, such as your identification data, we may not be able to contact you or provide you with a quote and thus provide products or services to you.

Direct marketing

  • Your data may be used for direct marketing purposes. This is to send you, via our newsletter or other means (e.g. social media), information about our Nobi light or additional information that could be interesting or useful to you.
  • If you are already a customer or otherwise involved in a contractual relationship with us , this can be done on the basis of our legitimate interests to conduct business, which may outweigh your (privacy) rights or interests. If you are not a customer or otherwise involved in a contractual relationship with us, we need your prior consent (e.g. by registering on our website). 5.2. The processing of your data via the website shall not be subject to so-called ‘automated individual decision-making’ or profiling

6. Who else receives or processes your data (in addition to Nobi)?

6.1. Your data is primarily also processed by our partners, service providers or suppliers with whom we work in connection with the website, e.g., our web administrator(s), hosting provider(s) and/or IT partners, who only process your data in connection with your visit to and use of our website.


6.2. We are not responsible for the processing of your data by third parties that do not process this data on behalf of Nobi, but are responsible for this themselves.


6.3. Nobi can be obliged to provide your data or process it due to a legal obligation and/or in response to a request from supervisory authorities or government bodies.


6.4. We do not sell personal data or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising, nor do we process personal data for targeted advertising. We also do not process sensitive personal data for the purpose of inferring characteristics about a consumer.


7. Is your personal data transferred outside of the EU/EEA?

For the functioning of our website and the handling of any inquiries or requests submitted via the contact forms, we engage service providers established within the EEA and in the United States. Consequently, and only for the purposes set out in section 5 above, personal data may be transferred outside the EEA. In all cases, the safeguards described in this privacy policy are applied, irrespective of where the personal data is processed. Where such transfers take place, Nobi ensures that appropriate safeguards are implemented in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. In particular, such transfers may be based on:

  • An adequacy decision of the European Commission, confirming that the country to which the personal data are transferred ensures an adequate level of data protection equivalent to that provided under the (EU and UK) GDPR (for example the United Kingdom or organizations in the United States that are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework); or
  • The Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission, concluded with the recipient of the personal data outside the EEA.

8. How long do we keep your data? 

8.1. We will not keep your data longer than necessary for the purposes described in section 5 above, unless special legal provisions apply to its storage or processing. Specific statutory retention periods may apply to certain data. In any case, the principle that we do not keep your data longer than necessary applies in this regard. If your personal data is no longer necessary for the intended purposes, we will delete or anonymize it as necessary.

9. What are your rights?

9.1. You have the right to information about the processing of your data via the website. This is communicated to you via this privacy policy. You can also request us to provide you with additional information at any time.

9.2. You have the right to request:

  • access to your data: you can obtain one copy of the requested information free of charge. If you request additional copies, we can charge you a reasonable fee as an administrative expense;
  • Rectification of your data (if necessary);
  • Erasure of your personal data if: 
    • the processing of such data is no longer necessary for the purpose(s) for which they were processed by us;
    • you have withdrawn your previously given consent;
    • you object to our processing ;
    • the personal data would have been processed by us unlawfully;
    • this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; 
  • Restriction of the processing of data related to you.
    You have the right to obtain a restriction of the processing if you:
    • dispute the accuracy of the data we hold;
    • the processing is unlawful and you oppose the deletion of the personal data and instead request the restriction of its use;
    • we no longer need these data while you still need these data for the establishment, exercise or substantiation of a legal claim; 
    • or  pending an answer to the question of whether Nobi’s legitimate grounds outweigh yours or your (privacy) rights if you have objected to the processing on the basis of our legitimate interest.

9.3. You have the right to object to the processing of your data.

You can object at any time and free of charge to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes. This can be done simply by letting us know via privacy@nobi.life and/or by unsubscribing on our website. This is also possible via the mailings (at the bottom of each mailing you will always find the option to unsubscribe). In that case, you will no longer receive marketing messages, communications or newsletters from us.

9.4. You have the right to transfer your data (to another controller). This is only possible if the processing is based on your consent or if the processing is carried out by automated processes.

9.5. If the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

9.6. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authorities. If you reside in the EEA, you may contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels – Tel: +32(0)2 274 48 00 – E-mail: contact@apd-gba.be) as our lead supervisory authority, or your local supervisory authority. If you reside in the United Kingdom, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Before lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority, we encourage you to contact Nobi first so that we can address your concerns. You may contact us globally at privacy@nobi.life or, if you reside in the United Kingdom, contact our UK Representative (8foldGovernance).

9.7. Exercising your rights, as set out above, is always subject to the requirements and conditions established by applicable laws.

To exercise your rights, you can simply send a request to Nobi at privacy@nobi.life. You must provide sufficient identification. If we have reason to doubt your identity, we may ask you for additional information necessary to confirm your identity. Please ensure that any information or data that is not necessary for the verification and confirmation of your identity is blacked out or otherwise removed or rendered unreadable.

9.8. This privacy policy is subject to Belgian law. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this privacy policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Antwerp (division Antwerp), Belgium.

However, if you reside in a jurisdiction where mandatory (consumer) protection laws provide otherwise, such mandatory provisions may grant you additional rights, including the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence.

9.9. We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish an updated version and effective date on this page, unless another type of notice is required by law.
